Film Series??

I am posting this comment here because the Film Series forum is only activated for Moderators currently.

If possible, I would like to see MWP bring the new documentary, Religulous, to show in it's Film Series. This film is showing nowhere in the Utica-Rome area (closest is Hamilton) and I think it would be engaging and entertaining for those interested or curious about it.

Forum: Great Artist Series

Bruce Barbour (1923-1980)

I had the pleasure of studying piano with Bruce Barbour 1967-70 while attending Hamilton College. He had studied with Robert Casadesus and Nadia Boulanger in France; he made his New York debut at Town Hall. His lectures at your museum were impeccably well prepared and always informative. He told me that he assisted pianist Olga Samaroff (1882-1948) in preparations for her famous Juilliard lectures. That's where he started his incredible lecture-slide collection that his mother (Maria) told me went to Syracuse University after Bruce's death on August 4, 1980. Utica was lucky to have him as music coordinator at the museum for those many years. I shall never forget his passion for great music, his love of fine food and his cheerful demeanor and joie de vie.

Forum: Great Artist Series

Nurse Buttons (m.o.p.) An Internist

Basically, the work is about a nurse from the turn of the century and what she does on her day off for self care.

I ask if you can share your answers to the question of:

"What are the salient habits which sustain us on all levels"

Or if you like, please submit your comments on the exhibition.

Thank-you so much for your participation. Your input is very important. This is an attempt to bridge the gap between the poetics and brass tacks of art and life, perhaps a means for expanding our dialog about and understanding of self care as the foundation for effective, preventative health care.

If you are a nurse and you would like to take the survey click here.

Forum: Current Exhibits
